About AAHE

The Arkansas Association for Hospital Engineering was established April, 23, 1966. The Association assists members in gaining and maintaining leadership in their profession, and through collective efforts advances the professional standard of this branch of engineering.
The members of the Association continually strive to live up to our motto "Education through Association."
The Association is the state chapter of the American Society for Hospital Engineering of the American Hospital Association, as well as an affiliate of the Arkansas Hospital Association.

Chapter Awards

In 1982, the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) began awarding Chapter Recognition Awards for chapter education, membership, and levels of membership.

To qualify for the Educational Award, the chapter must conduct at least four hours of educational programs, on timely hospital topics, by a qualified individual, during the year.

To qualify for the Membership Award, ASHE accepts at least five new members for membership for the chapter during the year.

To qualify for the Levels of Membership Award, the chapter must have at least one new senior or fellow member of ASHE from the chapter.

In 1992, ASHE added several new awards such as APEX for professional excellence, Advocacy, Quarterly Newsletter, and Special Achievement (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) for chapters receiving at least three total awards.
